FAQs

  • In short, we needed a solution for capturing face scans, and we had to start somewhere with bringing our product to life.

We started with iOS because we were aware of other iOS apps that could successfully capture face scans. Our own app heavily relies on the depth map data provided by the TrueDepth sensor, which was introduced with the iPhone X and is also present on some iPad models.

We understand that Android devices do not feature a similar depth sensor that is standardized across all, or at least most, of the recent models. We do plan on exploring this topic in more depth and improving the ordering experience for our customers who do not have easy access to iOS devices.

  • Due to the custom nature of our product and the distinctiveness of our Fit Guarantee, we have opted to initially launch our services within the United States and offer free shipping with return coverage.

As we ramp up our production capacity and gather more customer feedback, we plan to explore opportunities for expanding our services into other markets.

  • We create a unique 3D design (Virtual Prototype) for each customer order. We use an additive manufacturing process to make the rigid frame of the facial interface, to which we attach a soft silicone padding that is correctly sized for the customer. The end result is a fully unique product for each of our customers.

  • Currently, we only offer paddings fully made from silicone. Our padding’s unique design incorporates air pockets for added softness, allowing us to use silicone as the only material.

  • The supplier of the silicone material that we use has had an independent lab certify the material as skin safe to the OECD TG 439 certification.

  • Before placing an order in our iOS app, you will receive an estimated shipping date based on our production capacity. After submitting an order, you can access the order details page in our iOS app to check the current shipping date estimate.

  • Your payment method is charged when we start production on your order, which is approximately two working days before the order is shipped.

When you place an order, we'll only authorize your payment for the order amount. If we can't process the payment as described, we'll let you know and request an updated payment authorization. Your order won't go into production until the payment is successfully charged, but we'll hold your place in the queue. If we don't hear from you within three days, your order will be canceled automatically.

  • If our estimated production date is more than 7 calendar days away, our app will offer you the option to place a waitlisted order as the only choice. We'll request authorization for a $1 payment, which we won't actually charge. When it's your turn to place a full order, we'll send you a notification in the app. If you don't complete the order within three days, it will be canceled automatically, and you'll lose your spot in the queue.

  • Yes, we do. When you request a Virtual Prototype, you will be asked to fill out a brief survey about your current VR setup, which includes a question about your use of prescription lens inserts. This lets us know that we need to design in additional eye relief to ensure that prescription lenses do not interfere with your face. We will reach out to you via email to clarify the exact brand of prescription lenses that you use and confirm the lens thickness for which we need to account.

  • Unfortunately, we do not, due to the variety of eyeglass shapes and sizes. Our custom facial interface designs assume that either glasses will not be used or that prescription lenses will be used. In the case of the latter, we design in additional eye relief to ensure that prescription lens inserts do not interfere with the user’s face.
